No-Kill State?

You may have heard of no-kill shelters. These are animal shelters that vow to save 9 out of 10 animals. They generally save euthanasia for the most terminally ill animals, healing all treatable animals. There are approximately 4,000 no-kill communities (cities/towns) that focus on saving as many animals in their respective shelters as possible.

Currently, Delaware is the only no-kill state in the United States. Following the guidelines for a no-kill shelter, Delaware has ensured all of their shelters save at least 90% of the animals who are brought to them. The state currently has a 92.9% average rate for saving shelter animals.

We at CARE Stamp hope to help more states and communities, including CARE Stamp's 0.

home state, Maryland. Here is the link to a petition to make Maryland a no-kill state. If you are concerned about your state, start a petition of your own! If enough people sign these petitions, and bring attention to traditional and no-kill shelters, the United States could have more no-kill states, and one day, be a no-kill country.
